Lisa Fernandez

2015

Lisa Fernandez is a fifth generation Arizonan, born and raised in Yuma with nearly ten years of experience in fundraising, strategic communications and managing electoral campaigns. Her amazing campaign experience includes running Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton’s re-election effort; managing Arizona List endorsed Phoenix City Councilwoman Kate Gallego’s race 2013; and Congressman Ruben Gallego(2014); and working with Jim Pederson, Andrei Cherny and Congressman Grijalva. Lisa has worked as the Finance Director for both the Maricopa County Democratic Party and the Arizona Democratic Party and with dozens of candidates for office even outside Arizona.  In 2012, Lisa went to work on one of the most competitive Congressional races in the country in Illinois. She was credited with fixing the campaign’s financial situation and helping unseat an incumbent member of Congress. Since then, Lisa has remained focused on what she’s passionate about: advancing Democratic candidates and progressive causes in Arizona.

Lisa attended Arizona State University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in political science. At ASU, Lisa began developing her political and organizational skills, serving as President and Vice President of the the Arizona State Young Democrats. She was also one of the founders of “Arizonans for Obama” as well as the youngest Obama delegate from Arizona. Lisa is dedicated to strengthening our community by getting good Democrats elected to office. She does have a life outside of politics – she spends as much time outside as possible – running, hiking, biking, and training for the Tough Mudder. Congratulations Lisa – we know you are an amazing Rising Star in Arizona!
