Holly Lyon

2020

Hollace (Holly) Lyon calls herself a “Westerner” having spent most of her childhood in the western U.S. In her 26 year Air Force career, she traveled the world, working at NATO and retiring out of the Pentagon as a Colonel. She and her wife, Linda, moved to Arizona in 2008, and immediately became active in the greater Tucson community. Holly revived the SaddleBrooke Democratic Club, growing it to almost 450 members. She helped build the infrastructure for the redistricted Legislative District 11, assisting with the new by laws and charter, and concentrating on growth and collaboration amongst the many Democratic clubs. She was campaign manager for the first Legislative Senate candidate, Jo Holt, in the new LD, and twice ran for LD 11 Representative. Holly went on to be the Vice Chair of LD 11, active in the Pinal County Democrats, and Senior Vice Chair of the Arizona Democratic Party. Holly knocked on thousands of doors and put tens of thousands of miles on her vehicles travelling throughout the large, suburban and rural Legislative District 11. In 2018, she raised more campaign dollars, by far, than any candidate in the history of LD 11. She continues to offer her support, and hard-earned wisdom to candidates, clubs, and other Democratic organizations throughout the State.
