Whitney Walker

Whitney believes everyone should have equal access and opportunity to define their American Dream. Whitney was drawn to study government and the influence it has over our lives after witnessing her mother’s activism to improve worker rights as a child. She has her bachelor’s degree in political science and law degree.  Her professional life mirrors her commitment to service and lifts the voices of those in her community. Whitney has spent her career advocating for sustainable policy solutions on behalf domestic and sexual violence survivors and their families. She has a proven record working with advocates to close systematic gaps to end cycles of violence and poverty. Whitney has served on the Impact of Domestic Violence and the Courts Committee for the State of Arizona working directly with policy makers to create change. Whitney also serves on the Human Relations Commission for the City of Phoenix where she advises the city council on human relations issues and assists in implementing the city’s policy against discrimination. She is running for Board of Supervisors to bring this experience to the office and make sure all residents of Maricopa County are treated equitably.
