Kathy Kinsella

Running for Sedona City Council

Kathy is currently serving in her fourth year on the Sedona City Council. Prior to her election, she served as Vice Chair of Sedona’s City Planning and Zoning Commission. She has more than 30 years of experience working in state and local government (AZ and NY) in both appointed and elected positions and has worked on municipal policy and management, budgeting, community development, and infrastructure issues. Kathy brings balanced judgment to the examination of complex projects and issues. Kathy serves on the boards of the Democrats of the Red Rocks and her homeowner’s association. She has a long history of community involvement. She is active with PFLAG Sedona/Verde Valley, is a neighborhood coordinator for the Verde Valley Neighborhood Food Project, and is a founding member of the Sedona Women’s March and of the Sedona Action Network. Kathy is a Past President of the League of Women Voters Greater Verde Valley. Kathy is a recipient of the League of Women Voters Greater Verde Valley 2017 Citizen Engagement Award. She has a broad background in community advocacy and in bringing people together to reach solutions. She and her wife Chris have owned their home in Sedona for 14 years.
