Isela Blanc

Representative

Representative Isela Blanc is a community organizer with over 15 years of experience advocating for children and families. She has worked on behalf of the children and families of LD 26 since she was first elected to the Arizona House of Representatives in 2016.

When Isela was six years old she and her family immigrated to the U.S. With support from her family she graduated from Tempe High School and became the first person in her family to attend university. Isela graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Family and Human Development, and went to work for Tempe Community Council’s Thrive to Five Resource Centers. It was there she learned the  impact that family services can have on strengthening families, and the importance of building safe and healthy environments to improve quality of life for all.

Isela began her engagement work as a parent volunteer in her children’s school, which led to her involvement with the PTA, Rio Salado Little League, and other various groups where she acquired the skills to advocate for better schools, youth programs, and equal access to services.

Isela currently works in the public sector in Phoenix, collaborating with law enforcement, community alliances, and block watches to build awareness of and support for early childhood development. During her off time, she facilitates with Arizona State Universities outreach programs; Realizing the American Dream, Future Sun Devil Families, and Families Preparing Future Generations. Isela knows that education is the key to success, which is why she enjoys the opportunity to connect families with the tools and resources to help guide their child to higher academic attainment.

In her second term Representative Blanc has continued her work to ensure that all Arizona families can achieve the American dream. She has drawn on her experience in education and family services to improve educational opportunities for all and to make sure Arizona families have equal access to the services they need to thrive.
